I pictured a lot of the first cities population wearing odd clothing; haphazerdly constructed and more like moving homes than clothing. I'm going to do several variations of them that'll be used in some of the more detailed shots and then just adjust the same four or five outfits for pulled back shots.

I finished the 2nd revision to the story last night and will soon be sending it off to my cohort for their approval. From the get-go I had hoped that the story would be complete on the first try without need for major story alterations but I guess that was nothing more than a pleasant dream.
The above images are concepts for the various antagonists in the story. The word 'concept' is a little misleading because I don't see the final versions being much different than these two.

These are some tests I did yesterday night to experiment with the style of the rendering. Ideally I would have loved to be able to do all the art in watercolour to get some really great bleeds between colours and all the other happy accidents that occur with traditional media unfortunately paint and paper cost money and I just don't have enough to spend on the hundreds of sheets that it would cost to finish the book. And that's not even considering screw- ups and transporting it back home and the "finished" pieces that I end up not being satisfied with. Therefore, I turn to digital and it's endless supply of paint, brushes and canvases.
The first one I don't mind, it just took too long to finish. The second I like the drawing but it took too long to finish as well. The last is exactly the style I'd like all the work to be in and it took the least amount of time of all three. I'm going to work up some full figure shots and back grounds as well and see if I can use a similar method to finish those.

So I decided it would be a better idea to have a blog that was dedicated to updates about Relentless. Something a little more efficient and organized so people don't have to sift through my other work to find art pertaining to the book. Not that it's a chore having to look at my other work. I mean, as far as I'm aware it's not a chore. My friends could be lying to me; I don't know.
I posted these two images on my other blog but thought it appropriate to kick off this one with the future covers of Relentless.
